Over the last three years, several members of the group have held prominent roles on committees related to their field of interest, positioning them as international references in this area.
Thus, Dr. Crespo, who is a member of the Research Committee of Hospital del Mar, has served on doctoral thesis committees and on the board of the Descartes group, a transplantation research group affiliated with the European Renal Association (ERA). These roles have enabled her to lead and participate in collaborative multicenter studies, contributing to the development of key publications in the field, as well as to educational activities that serve as guidance for transplantation professionals at the European level. She has also co-authored documents developed by leading opinion groups in transplantation immunology (ENGAGE project, European Society of Transplantation; STAR, USA). She served as coordinator of SENTRA, the transplantation working group of the Spanish Society of Nephrology, until November 2024, when she was succeeded by Dr. M.J. Pérez. Dr. Crespo has also organized and coordinated meetings such as DETECTA and courses on updates in kidney transplantation together with Drs. Pérez and Redondo.
Dr. M.J. Pérez is the current coordinator of SENTRA and, together with Dr. Redondo, co-founded the COMPARTE-TR Working Group, composed of nephrologists from both transplant and non-transplant centers. Since 2024, they have organized an annual nationwide course on updates in kidney transplantation (OPINA).
Dr. Buxeda has been a board member of the Young Nephrologists Group of the Spanish Society of Nephrology (S.E.N.) since 2019.
Dr. Rodríguez is the coordinator of the Apheresis Group of the S.E.N. and serves as president of the Therapeutic Apheresis Group, which brings together all Spanish professionals in this field. Dr. Barrios is a member of the Consortium of METAbolomics Studies (COMETs), a European-level working group; she is also a board member of the cardiorenal working group of the SCN and SCC, as well as an active member of the Cardiorenal Group of the S.E.N.
In addition to this national and international visibility, the group is highly active in the international presentation and dissemination of the studies conducted within the group. With an average of 50 presentations per year, including oral communications and posters, the group regularly attends the most important annual meetings in the field (AST, ASN, SCT, SET, SCN, SEN, ERA, among others), where several works have received awards.
Over the past three years, the group has published a large number of scientific works. Specifically, 136 publications have been achieved, both independently and in collaboration. These publications accumulated a total of 290 citations by the end of June 2025, with an average impact factor of 6.84.
