The selected person will join the Applied metabolomics research group (Neurosciences research program).
- Task:
-
• Support in the coordination and monitoring of the group's active studies related to psychedelics, metabolomics, neuroimaging, and molecular biomarkers.
• Organization, review, cleaning, and harmonization of metabolomic, clinical, cognitive, psychometric, and neuroimaging data.
• Processing and quality control of data obtained through mass spectrometry, especially metabolomics and proteomics by LC-MS/MS and MALDI-MSI.
• Development, implementation, and documentation of reproducible analysis pipelines using R, Python, and Bash.
• Preprocessing of omics data, including filtering, normalization, outlier detection, batch effect evaluation, imputation, and variable transformation.
• Application of statistical and bioinformatics methods for exploratory and multivariate data analysis, including dimensionality reduction, clustering, variable selection, and result visualization.
• Integration of metabolomic data with variables from other modalities, such as magnetic resonance imaging, clinical measurements, cognitive tasks, and psychometric questionnaires.
• Execution of analyses in high-performance computing environments and use of tools aimed at ensuring the reproducibility of analyses.
• Maintenance of scripts, databases, variable dictionaries, and technical documentation associated with projects.
• Occasional support in the processing of biological samples and in the workflows of the metabolomics and mass spectrometry laboratory.
• Preparation of tables, figures, and reports of results, literature review, and support in the interpretation and communication of scientific findings.
- Formation:

Higher Degree Training related to clinical and biomedical laboratory, computer science, data analysis, or related fields, or equivalent qualification.
Additional training in biotechnology, bioinformatics, biomedicine, statistics, data science, or related disciplines will be valued.
- Experience:
-
• Academic or professional experience in data analysis using R or Python.
• Experience in processing or analyzing metabolomic, proteomic, or mass spectrometry data.
• Experience in the development or application of bioinformatics pipelines.
• Practical experience in biological sample preparation and mass spectrometry workflows will be valued.
• Experience in biomedical research environments and handling datasets from different sources will be valued.
- Knowledge:
-
• Programming and data analysis using R and Python.
• Knowledge of metabolomics, proteomics, mass spectrometry, and biological databases.
• Experience with high-performance computing, SLURM, workflow managers like Make or Snakemake, and reproducible environments using Docker or Singularity will be valued.
• Experience or interest in integrating omics data with imaging, clinical variables, and psychometric measures will be valued.
• B2 level of English or equivalent.

The ability to learn, progressive autonomy, rigor in documenting analyses, teamwork in multidisciplinary environments, and interest in research in metabolomics, neuroscience, and psychedelics will be especially valued.
