The selected person will join the Clinical and risk factors for neurodegenerative diseases research group (Neurosciences research program).
- Task:
-
o Design and carry out statistical analyses related to the ATHERO project, focusing on the interplay between subclinical atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers, neuroimaging, and cognitive outcomes.
o Lead and contribute to neuroimaging analyses within the ALFA+ study and other related cohorts, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
o Prepare scientific publications, conference presentations, and internal project deliverables to disseminate key findings.
o Contribute to BBRC’s research efforts in the areas of clinical risk factors, neuroimaging, and the early detection and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases
- Formation:
-
PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field, with solid experience in the analysis and interpretation of human brain imaging data (MRI and PET).
- Experience:
-
o Experience in clinical or cognitive neuroscience research, including experimental design and data analysis.
o Knowledge of neuroimaging techniques (e.g., MRI, fMRI) and basic neuroanatomy.
o Experience handling clinical or behavioral datasets and managing research databases.
o Familiarity with cognitive assessment, clinical evaluations, or patient-oriented studies (preferred).
o Previous experience in laboratory techniques, experimental protocols, and technical support for research projects.
o Strong academic record with experience presenting scientific results at conferences and contributing to publications.
o Experience working in multidisciplinary and/or multi-site research teams.
• Conocimientos:
- Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of Alzheimer’s disease pathophysiology, particularly in preclinical and prodromal stages.
• Advanced expertise in statistical analysis, including proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, MATLAB).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong track record of scientific publications and presentations.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.
