Project title:

The first 10-year population-based genome-wide association study (GWAS) with coronary artery disease in over 100,000 participants to personalize cardiovascular prevention in Spain (PMP22/00033)

Description:

The selected person will join the Girona Heart Registry (REGICOR) research group (Epidemiology and public health research program).

Task:

Logistics of the post-analytical phases of laboratory work. Analytical work: cell cultures, HDL functional analysis.

Formation:

Higher Degree Laboratory Training.

Experience:

Previous laboratory experience is required in cell cultures, nucleic acid extraction, analysis technology of different analyses by Luminex equipment, enzyme immunoassays (ELISAs, ...) and technical validation of the results. Previous experience in the use and quality control of databases is also required. Experience in pre-, post- and analytical processes involved in laboratory certifications and accreditations will be an asset. Experience in handling LUMINEX X-MAP and PENTRA-400 equipment is essential. Experience in the extraction of nucleic acids from different specimens (whole blood, buffy coat, etc...) and by manual or semi-standardized procedures is required.

Knowledge:

Office skills at user level. Experience and knowledge of genomic analysis, cellular experiments to determine the functionality of HDL and genomics will be an asset. Likewise, retraining in areas such as calibration, ultracentrifugation, cell cultures and handling of machinery such as the Lipoprint-Quantimetrix/Vitro System, LUMINEX and QIACUBE will be considered.

The REGICOR group (Registre Gironí del Cor – www.regicor.cat) is a consolidated and multidisciplinary research group based at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute (IMIM), within the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). It has been working for decades in the field of cardiovascular epidemiology and personalized medicine, with its own cohort of the general population that is very well characterized.
