  Dr. Antó, director of CREAL, awarded the Josep Trueta medal for his outstanding contribution to healthcare

  

  José Montilla, the president of Catalonia’s government, accompanied by health minister Marina Geli, was awarded the Josep Trueta medals and plaques for outstanding contribution to healthcare this Thursday, the 26th of February at 7 p.m. For the ninth consecutive year, Catalonia’s government honoured a series of people and organisations who have contributed to improving healthcare. The ceremony took place at the Palau de Pedralbes.

  "Pre-natal exposure to paracetamol linked to increased risk of asthma in early childhood"

  

  An international study done by the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) and the Municipal Institute of Medical Research (IMIM-Hospital del Mar) with collaboration from the University of Aarhus in Denmark affirms the known link between pre-natal exposure to paracetamol, especially during the first trimester, and the risk of respiratory problems or the development of asthma in the first seven years of a child’s life.

  Registration is open for the workshop: “Programming Pancreatic ß-cells"
