Sant Jordi, the day of the book and the rose, has once again left us with images that show how important this celebration is. Solidarity roses, heartfelt books, and the first edition of the Sant Jordi short story contest.

The contest jury awarded the story Carmela by Centre Fòrum nurse Maria Ángeles Fernández Rivera as the best among the twenty texts submitted. In second place, Laia Cano Márquez, from the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, with the story Allò que no es veu, and in third place, Rut Fuentes Fernández, TCAI at Centre Dr. Emili Mira, with Sant Jordi in the kingdom of silence. The special prize for the stories with the most ‘likes’ on the intranet went to Isabel Márquez Romero, nurse at CAEM, for Allò que roman, and to Carmen Navarro Fernández, nurse at Centre Esperança, for Second chances.
The award ceremony, featuring a lithograph and a set of books for the best story, and a set of books for the other winners, took place at the Maite Forner Gardens. We would like to thank all participants for their effort, as well as the authors who donated their books: Rodrigo Quian Quiroga, Juan Fernández Candil, and Fernando Lana.
